The first one is Reshma (Shriya Saran), who is working with the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, and is enjoying her life with her Christian boyfriend Aryan (Puru Raajkumar) and his father, who own a large construction company. Aryan goes to Gujarat to attend wedding of his cousin Akash (Karanvir Zutshi), who is living with his widowed mother Anuradha Desai alias Anu (Mona Singh) and step-father Ashok Desai (Dushyant Singh). Before the wedding, Aryan realizes that Anu is against their relationship. After this incident, Akash's uncle Javed Sheikh (Vidyut Jamwal) starts harassing him, and Ashok conceals this fact from his mother. Anu is visited by Javed at her residence on the eve of the wedding. The prospective groom's family wants to view Anu's painting collection before marriage. The guests enjoy at Anu's residence during the party, with Javed standing guard outside to ensure they do not leave. The guests discover a hidden room in the basement, which they believe is a wine cellar. Meanwhile, Anu gives birth to a baby boy. Javed tries to enter the basement several times, but after being told by Ashok to remain outside, he raises an alarm and two henchmen break in using explosives. The guests run for safety as the building catches fire. In her last moments of life, Anu begs Anu to leave with her baby and take refuge at Ashok's house since it is much safer there than Anu's own house.
